GPS navigation for mobile robotic systems N. A. Uvarov, S. A. Klestov

By: Uvarov, N. AContributor(s): Klestov, S. AMaterial type: ArticleArticleOther title: GPS навигация для мобильных робототехнических систем [Parallel title]Subject(s): GPS | навигация | мобильные робототехнические системыGenre/Form: статьи в сборниках Online resources: Click here to access online In: Инноватика - 2019 : сборник материалов XV Международной школы-конференции студентов, аспирантов и молодых ученых, 25-27 апреля 2019 г., г. Томск, Россия С. 120-122Abstract: There is a multitude of ways in which mobile robotic system can orient itself in an area. Most notably with proximity sensors and pre-placed beacons that serve as figurative lighthouses for the robot in order to avoid potential obstacles. Such systems are perfect for enclosed, hard to reach places, as they are usually very precise and reliable source of navigational information. But for more open spaces in which satellite signal can reach the mobile platform of a robot, GPS systems are absolutely crucial for offroad navigation, or navigation in areas that do not have clear direction pointers or markings. Here, examples of implementation of GPS navigation in autonomous mobile systems will be discussed.
