N2  - Notre but est de porter un regard réflexif sur la formation doctorale en
régime de cotutelle qui par définition se situe dans un contexte international. La
 dimension sur laquelle nous concentrons notre attention, est celle du processus
 de développement des compétences interculturelles dans le sens du rapport réalisé
 et publié par l’UNESCO en 2013. Notre réflexion est basée sur une longue
 et forte expérience d’encadrement de travaux de recherches universitaires réalisés
 par des étudiants non-francophones issus de divers pays, en particulier des
 travaux de thèse de doctorat. En ce qui concerne la formation doctorale internationale
 en régime de cotutelle, nous entrons dans une relation de causalité circulaire,
 car à la fois des compétences interculturelles sont acquises et développées
 dans la trajectoire de formation mais celles sont aussi une des conditions pour
 parvenir à la finalité, pour le doctorant ou la doctorante, d’être reconnu pour ses
 compétences scientifiques de haut niveau, par deux institutions culturellement
 distinctes. Cette trajectoire traverse des espaces universitaires fortement marqués
 par un ethnocentrisme académique.
 Abstract. Our goal is to take a reflexive look at the PhD training under joint
 supervision which is international by definition. The aspect on which we focus
 our attention is the process of developing intercultural competences in the sense
 of the report produced and published by UNESCO in 2013. Our reflection is
 based on a long and intense experience of supervising the research work of university students from various non-French-speaking countries, particularly PhD
 research. With regard to the international doctoral training under a joint supervision,
 we enter into a circular causality relationship, because intercultural
 competences are acquired and developed in the training trajectory but their are
 also one of the conditions to reach the goal for a PhD student to be recognized
 for his high-level scientific skills by two culturally distinct institutions. This trajectory
 crosses academic spaces strongly marked by academic ethnocentrism
